Things to do at Donnington Grove

As we come into April, the signs that Spring has come to full fruition are all around. The smell of freshly cut grass and budding flowers , Easter eggs line shop shelves and newborn lambs graze in surrounding fields.

We’re all raring to get into the great outdoors and explore areas near and far. At Donnington Grove, we have a range of Springtime activities to suit all ages, abilities and group sizes.

Below is a list of five Springtime activities to enjoy here in our 500 acres of stunning grounds::

Fishing

Set in the stunning Berkshire countryside with the River Lamorn running through our grounds, Donnington Grove is the perfect laid back location for traditional dry and fly fishing.

Fishing on the river is available for approximately half a mile, giving you plenty of river space to catch wild brown trout. There’s nothing more tranquil than spending time in the Spring sun, enjoying the peaceful trickling sounds of clear waters.

If you’re new to fishing or the area, we’d highly recommend the services of our resident guide, John Stevens. John is a patient and qualified fishing instructor available to hire by the day. He can provide tackle and friendly knowhow to visitors of all ages and abilities.

Clay pigeon shooting

At Donnington Grove, we boast our own shooting facility, allowing us to offer clay pigeon shooting all year-round. Whether you’re an avid clay pigeon shooter, gifting someone an experience for a special occasion, or just fancy a go by yourself, our facility is suitable for all abilities and ages.

Clay pigeon shooting is an incredibly accessible sport, so come and test your aim – it doesn’t matter if you’ve never experienced it before!

Spaces are limited and booking is required.
